William Wordsworth wrote this famous poem over 200 years ago, taking the inspiration from the journals of his sister after a walk on the banks of Ullswater. Our tour is a little more adventurous, as the water at daffodil time is a little chilly! Setting off from Glenridding we swim out past Silver Point on the east shore of the lake, and cross over the lake to Glencoyne Bay, which gave Wordsworth the inspiration to write his most famous poem 'Daffodils'. We regroup at this point and enjoy a stop for a hot drink while taking in the majestic view up the rest of the lake, and then returning down the western side of the lake to Glenridding.
