Relax and let us take care of you for a weekend of wild swimming adventure in Cumbria’s most beautiful lakes.
We will arrange your accomodation and meals, provide coaching and safety cover, and supervise five exciting swims on five magnificent stretches of water.
Starting with a Friday evening swim on Derwentwater – which allows us to asses your skills and offer advice on technique - you’ll discover what feels comfortably achievable throughout the remainder of the weekend, ending with a superb fish supper in nearby Keswick.
Saturday’s hearty Lakeland breakfast will be followed by a visit to Wastwater, the finest of all lakes to swim because of the crystal clear water and stunning scenery. This is a dark and mysterious lake; you could swim across to the Screes and back (1.6km) or swim the entire length (10km circuit) before a barbecue/picnic lunch.
On Saturday afternoon we’ll swim Coniston Water, backdrop to the ‘Swallows and Amazons’ stories. It’s a 4km swim, but if this isn’t the right length for you, we can enter the water at different points. Then it’s back to Keswick for a well-earned dinner!
On Sunday morning we’ll begin our final day with a swim in Bassenthwaite Lake, which is the only lake in the Lake District, and also one of the quietest. After a light lunch by the lakeshore we’ll head off to Ullswater for your last swim, and there are several options here depending on your requirements.
Coffee and cake will be served before you stuff your moist clothing into your suitcases and set off home!
We are sorry but these tours will not be taking place in 2022.
Swim on the Wild Side is the Lake District's only swimming holiday operator offering fully coached activities with a qualified and experienced coach.
All of our swims are fully risk assessed, insured and we abide by the strict environmental rules laid down by the Lake District National Park, following the 'Ditch the Hitchers' campaign.
