The Derwentwater Ring

Jetty to jetty to complete the 10km circuit

Entering the lake at the shore near Keswick, we'll swim past Friar's Crag, Lord's Island and Calfclose Bay to Ashness Gate, where we will have our first of many refreshment stops (as close as every 45 minutes). Our next jetty to visit is situated at Lodore, with High and Low Brandelhow coming before Hawes End. Swimming out of Derwent Bay we head for the most recent jetty to be added to the ring at Lingholm, onto Nichol End before finally touching base back at Keswick.

This is a rare chance to see the lake before the tourists arrive – our swim is carefully timed to avoid the launch and the ‘hot spots’.

Numbers are strictly limited on this tour, so please book soon to avoid being left out!

OPEN WATER COACHING

OPEN WATER COACHING

This can be anything from a one off session while you're on holiday in the Lake District to a more of a structured course to help transform your stroke over a period of time.

Swim on the Wild Side is the Lake District's only swimming holiday operator offering fully coached activities with a qualified and experienced coach.

All of our swims are fully risk assessed, insured and we abide by the strict environmental rules laid down by the Lake District National Park, following the 'Ditch the Hitchers' campaign.
